Do you have what it takes to work for Outdoor Dog Adventures?

 We’re looking for a reliable, hard-working, mature, team-oriented dog walker who is committed to providing top-notch care for dog and human clients alike. Walkers must enjoy exercise and spending time with dogs in the great outdoors. This position provides a great opportunity for students, moms, retirees, and others to earn supplemental income.


Duties of the position:

  • Have a great love for dogs
  • Safely walk 1-4 leashed dogs from their home and back
  • Provide care for pets as assigned, even in less-than-ideal weather conditions
  • Encourage desirable home and walk behaviors using positive training techniques
  • Supervise interactions between dogs in multi-dog households and intervene when necessary
  • Be alert daily to signs of health problems; inspect pets for injuries
  • Follow feeding instructions and make sure pets have fresh water
  • Monitor home security during each visit
  • Use smartphone app to check into and out of visits, write detailed visit reports, and take photos
  • Respond promptly to texts or emails regarding scheduling

  • Responsible, reliable, patient, and caring
  • Good judgement and decision-making ability
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Great time management skills
  • Willingness to take directions from others
  • Ability to function well as a team member
  • Able to work some holidays
  • Have computer with internet access and email
  • Possess a smartphone with data plan, as well as a car charger
  • Have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record
  • Own reliable transportation
  • Be willing to put mileage on your car traveling between visits
  • Live in or near our service area


We train our team thoroughly, but it’s a plus if you have:

  • An understanding of dog behavior
  • Excellent ability to read dog body language
  • Experience with dogs in groups
  • Training, walking, or dog daycare experience
  • Professional Pet Sitter certification
  • Membership in a professional pet sitting organization
  • Cat and dog first aid and CPR certification
  • dog*tec Dog Walking Academy certification
